Product Questions

How does buying a suit from Pursuit work?

We sell off-the-rack suits. That means you can quickly browse our assortment, try on what you like, and determine if any alterations are necessary. If no alterations are needed, you're out the door with a new suit. If you do need alterations we prepare it for our tailor and you have your new suit in a matter of days.

Why don't you sell custom suits?

We find most guys prefer to keep their options simple and straightforward with a suit they can get quickly and at a reasonable price.

What products do you carry?

We focus primarily on professional attire; suits, tuxedos, blazers, dress shirts, ties, bow ties trousers, and accessories. We also carry select gift items and seasonal products like overcoats and scarves.

Which brands do you carry?

We carry a mix of our own Pursuit brand with curated selections from other major and independent brands we love.

Do I have to be skinny to wear your stuff?

Definitely not. We focuses primarily on modern, slim fit clothing. We believe this is what's current and appropriate for most guys. Slim fit comes in a full array of sizes, you need not be skinny! We also offer certain products in skinny fit (for very thin dudes) or classic fit (for the guys broader in the waist than the chest). If you typically shop big & tall stores we may not be the best option but we should have suits for most other body types.

Are you just for young guys?

No way, we've sold suits to guys of all ages. When we say 'Suiting the Next Generation' that means we focus exclusively on modern styles and fits. If that's what you're looking for, we're your suit store. Whether you're 12 or 92.

Do you carry women's clothes?

At this time we do not offer what would be classified as traditional "womenswear" clothing like you would find at a store like The Limited or JCrew. Perhaps one day. However we do frequently sell our clothing to women interested a "menswear" look.

I'm a woman who prefers a menswear style. Can you help?

Absolutely! We frequently sell suits to women who prefer the menswear look. Typically this can be accommodated with slightly more extensive alterations than our male customers, but not always.

Tailoring/Alterations

How long does tailoring take?

Standard turnaround time for tailoring is one week, sometimes longer during busy times. We can usually expedite the process for a small fee and often hem pants while you wait to get you a wearable suit on the run. If something comes up last minute, reach out and we'll do our best to help!

How much does tailoring cost?

Tailoring costs vary based on the alterations needed. We prefer to charge customers the direct cost of alterations they actually need instead building costs into the price of everyone's suit. Please note, we no longer tailor items that were not purchased at Pursuit For a list of updated prices click here.

Which alterations do you offer?

Our tailor currently offers about two dozen options for altering suits, blazers, pants, or dress shirts, you can find our current list here. If you have something special or specific in mind let us know. Please note, we no longer tailor items that were not purchased at Pursuit

Do you tailor clothing purchased elsewhere?

No. We only alter clothing purchased at Pursuit.

Do we need to use your tailor?

Nope. If you have a tailor you love, no problem, use them. And if you're purchasing online you'll need to get your suit altered locally by a tailor where you live.
