If you’re sitting at your desk, looking out the window at a gloomy scene, Punta Cana probably sounds pretty great. Here we present you with a brief reprieve in the form of Mindy and Max’s beach wedding in the paradise of the Dominican Republic.
The couple wanted to escape the chill of November with their family and friends and chose the Paradisus Punta Cana Resort as the scene for their biggest day. The sunny ceremony was held at the Gazebo overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the reception took place under the stars around the resort’s main pool. They even stumbled into an after-party rave at a nearby beachfront bar–you’re wishing you were on this guest list, right?
A few months before the wedding we began working with Max and Mindy on the look they envisioned. With the tropical setting the couple wanted to focus on lighter and brighter colors. The bridesmaids wore mint dresses from LuLu’s while we dressed the groom and groomsmen in slim fit, light grey suits.
Outfitting the guys was a smooth process. A few months before the wedding everyone descended on Columbus for a bachelor party weekend. The first stop on their Saturday was a group fitting at Pursuit, complete with a late morning OYO Michelone Reserve Bourbon, before heading off to their celebration. With the suits in stock we were able to fit, alter, and ship them a week later to the guys who live around the country, all they had to do was pack for the trip.
“I knew Nate would take care of me and my groomsmen and we weren’t disappointed. I’ve always thought renting tuxedos is a waste of money, but I still wanted all of the guys to match, so I thought Pursuit was a perfect blend of being able to get what I wanted without breaking the bank. I also had never had a suit fitted, and neither had many of the guys, so I wanted us to all be able to do that together and look great on the wedding day.” -Max Cava, Good-Looking-Groom
Mindy and Max returned from their wedding and honeymoon and kept the excitement going by closing on a new house. Their advice to those planning a wedding after the dust settled on their own?
“Don’t let the wedding take over your life. Enjoy being engaged. As long as your friends and family are there, that’s all that matters. The centerpieces, etc do not. Also, get a wedding video.”
We created Pursuit to be the place guys trust for all the life-changing moments they wear suits. Big thanks to Mindy and Max for including us on their wedding day!
