Through the years, Pursuit has been humbled by the number of couples who have chosen to make us a part of one of their biggest days by outfitting their wedding. We help our customers find the exact style to fit their vision—and now we’re beyond thrilled to share how that vision came to life for Danielle and Zach Hume. Read more about their wedding day, why they chose Pursuit, and some important advice for the soon-to-be-married men out there.
Why did you ultimately choose Pursuit for yourself and/or your groomsmen? In other words, what made Pursuit stand out amongst the rest?
We really wanted to support a local/small business and heard great things about Pursuit. After going in for the consultation and seeing the quality of their suits, we knew it was the right choice.
Tell us a little more about your suit.
I chose the French Blue Suit. I thought that I’d want the Navy, but after trying on the French Blue, my face lit up. Sheyan was amazing and made the process easy and fun.
We’d love to hear details: when and where did you get married? Any special reasoning behind the date or location?
We got married on May 18th, 2019. Our ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Church, and the reception at Juniper Rooftop. We knew we wanted to get married in the spring (we thought it would be cooler, but it turned out to be 85 degrees!). Also, Danielle’s favorite flowers are in season during the springtime. She came from a family of florists, so the flowers were very important.
Were there any noteworthy stories from the day of your wedding?
Our wedding day was truly a perfect day, but we did have one little snafu that makes for a hilarious story. While taking pictures in between the ceremony and reception, our photographer, Seth Kerechanin, had a great idea for a picture of me jumping. After about the third attempt to jump as high as I could, my pants ripped. Danielle, of course, was dying laughing, and I went into panic mode. Thankfully, we were down the street form Pursuit and within 20 minutes, I had a new pair of pants hemmed, all thanks to Sheyan and the Pursuit team! Oh, and the picture was so worth it.
Any advice you could give the men for their big day?
Don’t be afraid to stand out! The groom should feel as special as the bride, so we wanted to make sure I felt confident and excited about my suit. We picked a different color for the groomsmen so I’d stand out and not blend in with my groomsmen. We also had a morning of pampering at Goodfellows Tonsorial Parlor in German Village.
What are you looking forward to now that the wedding day is over?
The honeymoon! We have our honeymoon planned for Greece in September, where we’ll be going to Athens, Crete and Santorini. Neither of us have been before, so we’re really excited.
A huge thank you to Danielle and Zach for sharing your wedding stories and giving such thoughtful feedback! And a special thank you to Seth and Beth Kerechanin for capturing the love and happiness on Danielle and Zach’s big day!
