Through the years, Pursuit has been humbled by the number of couples who have chosen to make us a part of one of their biggest days by outfitting their wedding. We help our customers find the exact style to fit their vision—and now we’re beyond thrilled to share how that vision came to life for Kevin and Emily Zacharyasz. Read more about their wedding day, why they chose Pursuit, and some important advice for the soon-to-be-married men out there.
Why did you ultimately choose Pursuit for yourself and/or your groomsmen? In other words, what made Pursuit stand out amongst the rest?
We really wanted to have our wedding feature as many local vendors as possible. We’ve had our eye on Pursuit even before we were engaged, and as soon as I popped the question, I immediately made the decision about where to get my suit. In addition, to be able to own a suit instead of renting was much more appealing to us. We wanted to provide our groomsmen something that they could wear for years to come and look dapper as hell for our big day!
Tell us a little more about your suit.
We chose the two-piece blue suit and paired that with white shirts and ties from DAZI. We went with a dusty rose color to really bring together the wedding flowers, but also be able to coordinate with the bridesmaids’ dresses.
We’d love to hear details: when and where did you get married? Any special reasoning behind the date or location?
We got married on May 26th at Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove. We could not have asked for or imagined a more perfect day. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it. It was the very first place we visited and nothing else we saw even came close. It was the perfect mix of rustic and modern that we were searching for. We also wanted to get married on a long weekend, since the majority of our guests are from out of town and don’t have the opportunity to visit Columbus very often. We also wanted the extra time to relish the moments with our friends and family! Even with the additional day, the weekend flew by.
Were there any noteworthy stories from the day of your wedding?
We didn’t want to leave the dance floor—by the end, everyone kept bringing out the drinks and desserts straight to the wedding party! Our DJ kept the party going, so much so that most of the wedding party (including ourselves) closed down Pins Mechanical downtown that night.
Any advice you could give the men for their big day?
My advice to the groom is to stay on the dance floor the entire night—especially if you enjoy dancing as much as we do! It’s a great way to have people join in on the dancing when they come to talk to you. Emily still says that I’d still be on the dance floor days later if I had the chance!
What are you looking forward to now that the wedding day is over?
Just relaxing and enjoying weekends again in our beautiful city of Columbus. There is always something going on, and we can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. We also just bought a house in Merion Village, and we’re looking forward to exploring our new part of town and getting to know the local spots.
A huge thank you to Kevin and Emily for sharing your wedding stories and giving such thoughtful feedback! And a special thank you to Jaclyn Fischer of Coley & Co for capturing the love and happiness on Kevin and Emily’s big day!
