Tessa & Derek were married Memorial Day weekend outside in the sun at Camp Mary Orton. We were thrilled to be included in their vibrant and energetic wedding.
We’ve known Derek for several years since he began visiting our original pop-up shop. Last year he even worked for our seasonal spinoff ugly sweater shop, Christmisc. Earlier this year his younger brother (and best man), Brock, joined our team at Pursuit. So this was a wedding in the Pursuit family and, naturally, the style was on point!
The wedding was styled by Auburn + Ivory, Nichole Marie Lim handled hair and makeup, and our friends up the street at Turner’s Barber Shop and Shaving Parlor took care of the guys cuts and shaves. Tessa’s Mara Hoffman gown was set off by a fantastic flower crown by Eva from EcoFlora.
So when you have some of the coolest companies in-town on the job, your bride-to-be has great style and your brother works at Pursuit you are expected to dress well on your wedding day. Derek definitely didn’t disappoint! He chose a french blue slim suit, slim white shirt, and an aztec print burgundy tie from Pursuit to add color to the day.
The joy of the weekend took the form of yoga led by Balanced Yoga (where Tessa is the Studio Manager), multiple dance parties, and an impromptu sing along. All the fun was captured in these wonderful shots by Rachel Joy Baransi and we’re grateful she shared them with us.
The couple’s advice to those planning a wedding is to soak up the special four hours of your life that is the wedding but don’t be too serious, it’s the lifetime after that matters most.
